Numit puja(Prayer and Offering to Morning Sunlight)



                                                           





 Numit(Sun)  Puja.
Its a part of Manipuri culture where Prayer  is done along with an Offering of any fruits ,flower and water at a bright metal container right at the time when the sun raise .This is done after cleaning the entire house ,taking bath and wearing wash cloths. There is a believe that morning sunlight prayer brings positive energy to the family and luck for the day.

Simple Uchina Kanghou (Black Fungus fry)

Wash  & Soak Uchina  for 1hr & boil it  for 1 min

Wash and slice Dum Aloo

Big slice of onion & capsicum 

add 2tsp of oil in a hot khang(pan)

fry the allu dum for 1 min


add coriander and black pepper powder

Add Uchina and salt for taste and fry for 5 min

end result is so yummy

Bamboo Shoot Chicken Curry

Yummy Yummy !!!

Just came back from office early and got 1 KG skinless chicken on the way back,
Today i just don't want to make an ordinary chicken curry, Hmmmm Have plenty of time to think over preparing a tasty delicious curry.
Just open my Refrigerator and rolling my eyeball , oooh i saw bamboo shoot which i almost forgot to notice for long, just got it from hometown Imphal manipur, Now how can i turn this bamboo shoot into a magical delicious dish hmmmm yeah its not a big deal, My Mom my master chef  guru have taught me enough...  Now Lets get  Started......


Ingredient:
1.Chop 200gm of onion
2. Ginger Garlic homemade Paste 100 gm
3.Four medium size Potato chop 1/4 each after peel off.
4.Three medium tomato chop.
5.200 gm bamboo shoot.
6. 1 KG skinless chicken medium pieces.
7. 200ml oil.(olive/mustard/refine).
8.Coriander chop.
9.fennel 1 Tea spoon.
10. Coriander powder, chilly powder,chicken Masala.

Manipuri Fresh Water snail curry

Nga atoiba thongba is one of the famous dish in Manipur.My mum taught me how to prepared this dish at my childhood. It is less spicy and easy to prepared  and also one of the delicious food for manipuris ,so i would like to share  the recipe and how to prepared it.

RECIPE

1. 1kg of catala(carp) or  any medium size fish.
2. 300 gms of potato(3 to 4 pieces of potato)
3.300gm of tomatoes(3 normal size tomato).
4.50gm of garlic(1 and half  piece of garlic).
5.400gm of onion(4 normal size tomato).
6.20gm of green chillies.
7.5gm of dry red chilly(3 pieces of dry chilly)
8.50gm of ginger.
9.10gm of coriander leaves.
10.1/2tsp of red chilly powder
11.1tsp of  turmeric powder.
12.1tsp of  cumin seeds (jeera).
13.3 piece of Malabar leaf(Tejbata leaf).
14.4tsp of oil.
15.1/2 tsp of Heeng
16.salt for taste.
17.20gm of peas.


METHOD OF PREPARATION


1.Cut the fish into small pieces (10 cm square).
2.Chop the peel onion and  potato into four pieces each.
3.Chop the tomato into four pieces each. 
4.Chop green chillies into half vertically. 
5.Grind the peel garlic and ginger in a mixer to form a paste.
6.Heat the oil in the non stick pan and add heeng after a 30 sec.
7. After 5 sec add  Malabar leaf(Tejbata leaf) ,  jeera and red chillies
8.Add onion after 5 sec and then using a spatula mix them thoroughly at the pan for 1min . 
9.After the onion turn slightly brown add ginger garlic past and  chopped  green chillies and then mix again for a 1min then add the chopped  potato and peas and then mix and fry for around 5 min.
10.Add the fish pieces to the pan and mix altogether and fry for a 5min and then add  turmeric powder, red chilly powder and salt and mix altogether and fry  for 5 min.
11.Add chopped tomatoes  mix and fry for a while till the tomatoes get half cook . 
12.Add two cup of water and stir altogether two to three times then cover the frying pan.
13 Reduce the flame of the gas  very low and wait for another 15 min until the potato is fully cook and the gravy  is little reduce.
14 .Now off the gas and add the chopped  coriander leaves on  the top of the  curry.
