Manipuri Special Fish curry cuisine
Nga atoiba thongba is one of the famous dish in Manipur.My mum taught me how to prepared this dish at my childhood. It is less spicy and easy to prepared and also one of the delicious food for manipuris ,so i would like to share the recipe and how to prepared it.

RECIPE
1. 1kg of catala(carp) or any medium size fish.
2. 300 gms of potato(3 to 4 pieces of potato)

3.300gm of tomatoes(3 normal size tomato).
4.50gm of garlic(1 and half piece of garlic).
5.400gm of onion(4 normal size tomato).
6.20gm of green chillies.
7.5gm of dry red chilly(3 pieces of dry chilly)
8.50gm of ginger.
9.10gm of coriander leaves.
10.1/2tsp of red chilly powder
11.1tsp of turmeric powder.
12.1tsp of cumin seeds (jeera).
13.3 piece of Malabar leaf(Tejbata leaf).
14.4tsp of oil.
15.1/2 tsp of Heeng

16.salt for taste.

METHOD OF PREPARATION
1.Cut the fish into small pieces (10 cm square).
2.Chop the peel onion and potato into four pieces each.
3.Chop the tomato into four pieces each.
4.Chop green chillies into half vertically.
5.Grind the peel garlic and ginger in a mixer to form a paste.
6.Heat the oil in the non stick pan and add heeng after a 30 sec.
7. After 5 sec add Malabar leaf(Tejbata leaf) , jeera and red chillies.
8.Add onion after 5 sec and then using a spatula mix them thoroughly at the pan for 1min .
9.After the onion turn slightly brown add ginger garlic past and
chopped green chillies and then mix again for a 1min then add the chopped potato and peas and then mix and fry for around 5 min.
10.Add the fish pieces to the pan and mix altogether and fry for a 5min and then add turmeric powder, red chilly powder and salt and mix altogether and fry for 5 min.
11.Add chopped tomatoes mix and fry for a while till the tomatoes get half cook .
12.Add two cup of water and stir altogether two to three times then cover the frying pan.
13 Reduce the flame of the gas very low and wait for another 15 min until the potato is fully cook and the gravy is little reduce.
14 .Now off the gas and add the chopped coriander leaves on the top of the curry.
NOW YOUR NGA ATOIBA TONGBA IS READY
